Holiday Dinner Show!

So this Saturday, December 1st, is the band's first holiday dinner show.  Pretty exciting stuff!  For being our first year we sold a respectable amount of tickets, and everything seems to be coming together nicely!  It promises to be a fun evening.  I was just at Dibbles Inn today paying for the balance due and I got to see the way they decorated the room we'll be in.  It looks great!  I can't wait to see the final "look" with the fireplace lit...

Meanwhile, "The Boys" have been busy working up some Christmas music to sprinkle into the set lists!  And there is even a dance floor, which prompted me to "suggest" they plan to do a couple waltzes during the evening so our guests can stretch their legs and take a spin around the floor.

If you didn't get tickets to this year's show, don't despair.  I have a sneaking suspicion we'll be doing this again next year.  :)

Into the 21st Century :)

Slowly we are emerging from the Dark Ages and employing modern technology to help us reach out to our amazing fans and others in the music community.  Times, they are a-changing...  As brother Ray is fond of proudly announcing at concerts, we are on Spacebook and Myface, lol.  Recently we opened a Twitter account (@DelaneyBrothers) and now here we are on Blogger!  (I wonder what Ray will christen them....)

We are excited about the upcoming events we have scheduled for 2013.  But first, we have two holiday shows scheduled for December that we're working up new music for.  For the first time, we're doing a holiday dinner show.  It promises to be an amazing evening at the newly remodeled Dibble's Inn on Rte. 5 in Vernon on December 1st.  We had a good response for reservations for our first year doing this.  Hopefully we can make it an annual event to kick off the holiday season and get everyone "in the mood"!

Then on December 15th we will be at the Borodino Town Grange for the annual holiday show there.  It's a great little venue with a lot of character and great acoustics!  So if you didn't get in on the dinner show reservations, you can still catch the band playing some special selections to make your holidays merry and bright.  :)

In the meantime, we all hope you have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving celebration next week.  Even with the difficult times many in our country are going through, we still have much to be thankful for.  In that vein, I'd like to close with this inspirational thought from Oprah Winfrey: "Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more.  If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never ever have enough."   May we be ever mindful of the many blessings that surround us, and therein find an abundance of joy and peace.
